CCA deadline today
Today sees the deadline for submitting Climate Change Agreement
(CCA) data to Dairy Energy Savings Limited (DES) and it is
vitally important that processing companies with a CCA complete
the data forms sent out on 30th September.
DES cannot guarantee that companies returning data after
this deadline will be included within the sector data return
to Defra. If a site is not included within the Defra return,
then the site would lose the 80% rebate for a minimum of two
years from April 2009.
We are currently organising a group buying scheme for members
that need to purchase carbon dioxide allowances in order to
meet their targets. On the flip side, we are also organising
a group verification scheme for all members that wish to externally
verify their surplus carbon dioxide. Similar schemes have
worked extremely well during the past two milestone periods.
We are currently identifying which sites wish to participate.
Any participants who have not received the data request should
contact Fergus McReynolds at Dairy UK immediately.
End of fourth target period (1 October 2007 to 30
September 2008)
We are now past the end of the Fourth target period (1 October
2007 to 30
September 2008) and are currently receiving data for this
period.
It is your energy performance from this time period that
is judged against the fourth target (MS4) listed in your Underlying
Agreement.
By now all members should have received the template spreadsheet
(and guidance) that should be completed by all sites that
are part of the agreement.
DES has set a final submission date for End of Milestone
(MS4) Reporting returns, which is the 7th November 2008. We
expect all spreadsheet to be returned not later than this
date.
If you have not received the spreadsheet or you have any
questions regarding the
spreadsheet, please contact Nikki Olatunji on 020 7467 2602
or nolatunji@dairyUK.org
